I’ve spent the last few weeks gearing up for the Second Annual Leadership Lunch in honor of International Women’s Day that took place this past Friday.
As we drove to the event I was able to take a quick photo with my iPhone of the clouds over Tampa Bay.
Chief Jane Castor was given the Community Leadership Award.
It’s always inspirational to see women making a difference.
As one of the sponsors I knew I was going to be able to reach a lot of women who are in business and looking for ways to gain or sharpen their skills.
As I signed copies of my book and talked about The Mine System Of Learning website it became crystal clear that what I am doing is exactly what I need to be doing, helping women who want to grow or start their business by offering my online video courses.
I was also able to ask women in business who attended what challenges they face. The purpose for creating my online video courses is to be able to help on a global scale not just those in my area.
You might find it interesting to read what some of these women said.
Many women are solopreneurs. They know what they need to do but are getting overwhelmed with all the other day to day tasks of running a business.
I had one women who’s eyes welled up with tears because she was frustrated. She wants to run her business, write her book, be active on social media and run after two young children.
Several other women had business ideas and were having a hard time focusing on the right one for them.
Then there were those believe it or not who didn’t know what it meant to build an email list of subscribers.
As a matter of fact one jewelry designer said she had fabulous traffic to her site. I asked her how she was capturing the visitors information and she said she wasn’t! Can you imagine how much easier it would be for her to manage her business if she did? When she created a new piece of jewelry (one of a kind) she could then send out a photo to let people see it. If I visited her site that’s something I would want to know.
I found out people don’t know what to offer as an incentive to get people on their email list. After a discussion with one woman I was able to give her suggestions that if she implements should help her get those subscribers.
If you are enrolled in the FREE online video course I have for list building and still aren’t sure what you can offer let me know. We can brainstorm ideas to help you get an offer that’s right for you and your target audience.
The event made me realize I need to do a free online training about ideas for list building.
Be sure to sign up to right of this post so you can be notified when the free webinar is ready.
Here are a few photos from the event I’d like to share with you.
This is my assistant and I as we were setting up the table.
Since everyone asks me about my shoes I had to display them on the table!
The event was held at the Rusty Pelican in Tampa.
One of the vendors said the Rusty Pelican has 8 weddings on the weekend!
My photo display made it on time which was wonderful. The problem however was when we tried roll it back in. The mechanism wasn’t working properly. There was no way we could get a new one delivered in time. Fortunately my husband aka McGyver was able to take it apart and fix it!
Isn’t it funny how you prepare and prepare for an event and the next thing you know it’s over!
Whether you were at the event or not I’d like to ask: What challenges are you facing in your business that you could use help with?
