When I watched the video below it struct a cord in me in several ways.
I can remember going on job interviews and being told what my salary would be. At first I wasn’t assertive but as time went by and I valued my worth in the work place I did turn down jobs that didn’t reflect that in my paycheck.
The video has a brief commercial in the beginning but watch this and see how you as a woman feel.
Did you take not of what was said about video? Peole make their own messages and have a way to get their message heard by using video. That has the ability to change the world. Pretty powerful comment, wouldn’t you agree?
Being assertive means you have to get out there and start creating your video content to have your voice heard.
When I have conversations with businesses and entrepreneurs my topic always turns to video. Why? Video has the ability to have you and your message heard locally, globally, 24/7. You can use YouTube to get your message out but there are a variety of other video platforms you can use.
You are living in a time where the impossible is possible.
Before YouTube came into existence I wanted to create exercise videos. My favorite video was Jane Fonda’s workout.
I thought about all the women I knew who wanted to exercise. It was always easier when you have a friend to go with you.
All those years ago producing and marketing a video was super expensive. It was beyond my reach.
I have always loved video. From as far back as I can remeber my father had either a video camera in his hand or a still camera.
At the time I didn’t realize the importance of what he was doing. You see he was in fact giving us a gateway back in time to our childhood. Gives me goose bumps to think about it.
Just like my childhood videos can have an emotoional impact on me video can do the same thing for your business.
I think immediately about the Carter’s commercial. Talk about getting your message out there and being emmotional.
You have the potential to create an emtional connection with those you want to reach.
As soon as I could I jumped on video for our photography business. It was the logical step.
From there I realized I could help brides by creating video tips.
The next progression was to start offering my video services to help small businesses create their own online commercials.
My next step was to create video courses to help businesses learn or sharpen their skills to commnicate more effectively on multiple platforms.
Currently 70% of internet traffic is video driven. By the end of 2014 it’s expected to go to 90%
You can no longer afford to sit on the side lines and wait. You need to start using video to have your voice heard.
What does video have to do with being assertive? More than you realized.
My question to you is: do you use video in your business?
If not why?
Leave your thoughts and comments below I’d like to see them:)
