In a recent post I wrote about forming good habits which is exactly what you want to do when it comes to writing. Writing could be a book, post, article or even a script for a video.
Today I want to dig a little deeper into the topic of forming good habits and how this relates to your business.
Whether you realize it or not it takes discipline, willpower and good habits to get the most out of life. When these three things are combined you experience the power of being able to form good habits.
Willpower is one of those things that you may not see immediate results from. Don’t let that deter you. The fact that you have willpower will help you commit to performing the tasks you set out to accomplish.
What does willpower include? It includes self-discipline, which has to be sustained in order for you to reach your goals. Let’s say for example that you want to create an e-course. In order to do this you need to gather your information and start putting it together.
It may take weeks to finish your e –course. When you have the proper willpower you will take the time needed to create a course that is relevant and valuable to those who sign up for it.
The best way to form this good habit is to repeat the process every single day. It takes 3 to 4 weeks for something to become a habit. Once it becomes a habit you can continue building courses that you can offer to your audience. Believe me, the more you do this the easier it will become.
Never view this as a chore but as something that you look forward to. Creating a course is a way for your unique voice to be heard. It will help you build business relationships.
Perhaps you are thinking “someone has already created a course on this topic. Why would they buy it from me?”. Why? It’s because they liked the way you presented it. Something about you and the way you educate them makes sense. They connect with you.
The other day I gave a presentation to a group of business women. One of the video testimonials I received mentioned that although she had heard the topic before the way I presented the material was “clear, concise and understandable”. You see I used my own unique voice to get the message across.
Realizing you can have such an impact on someone brings me to the point that good habits create motivation. You will be motivated to finish your courses because you have not only the willpower but the motivation to stay disciplined.
See how all three things go together?
Motivation is when you have the desire to change something. It comes from deep within. You might feel like your course can help people improve their life in many ways.
Once you have this type of motivation your willpower and discipline levels will increase.
As you continue your journey you will find that nothing can stand in your way or stop you from being focused on forming good habits and attaining your goal.
