Key Person Of Influence
This past Friday I attended a live event in the Tampa Florida area called “Entrepreneur Brand Accelerator”.
I found the event by reading the book “Become A Key Person Of Influence”. It was one of those books that you were glad you decided to read.
According to the book there are 5 steps to becoming one of the most highly valued people in your industry.
I thought I’d share some information from the event with you.
We talked about:
How you need a perfect pitch
You need to publish your ideas
Raise Your Profile
It’s not just about knowing, these steps. It’s about implementing them.
There were several great speakers. Forbes Riley, David Hancock, Kevin Harrington, Chris Jenkins and Anthony Amos. Daniel Priestley the author of “Become A Key Person Of Influence was a speaker as well.
Chris Jenkins talked about authority. He said authority is influence. Authority makes people listen to you. Your visibility grows as your audience views you as an authority.
It was also interesting that he talked about being on Google Plus. I’ve been an advocate for Google Plus for a couple of years now so it was nice to hear him say just how important it is to have your “circles” and be active there.
When I talk to people about their online visibility strategy I mention that you need to be in multiple places on multiple platforms so I found it interesting when Chris Jenkins said that when you raise your profile online you raise your awareness and visibility.
It’s no mistake that the word authority has the word author in it.
I almost forgot to mention he was wearing Google Glasses when he came on the stage!
In this photo you see Kevin Harrington and Daniel Priestley
Kevin Harrington has been involved with over 500 product launches that resulted in sales of over $4 Billion worldwide with 20 products that reached individual sales of over $100 Million.
One of my biggest take aways is that there are so many talented entrepreneurs in the Tampa Bay area. It’s no wonder that Tampa is ranked number 3 in the U.S. for places to start a business.
It was nice to finally be able to have such an event in our area. So many times I’ve wanted to attend live events but they are always in Atlanta or sometimes they are on the east coast of Florida.
Hopefully we will have many more events such as this that we can all attend.
Did you go this event?
If so what were your favorite moments?
