It’s been reported that there are 1 billion smart phones being used globally. That’s according to Strategy Analytics (a consulting firm).
As we continue to discuss video marketing strategies we see more and more evidence that it’s crucial to the success of your business.
Case in point. On January 24, 2013 Twitter announced an iphone app called Vine that allows the user to record a video up to 6 seconds and then share it with your twitter followers.
How was the app been received? It reached number 1 in the Apple app store just one day after it’s release.
Even with it’s popularity there are still 86.5% that don’t know the app exists.
If you are reading this you are no longer among those 86.5%. You are the Savvy Entrepreneur that will now find out more about this app and possibly start using it.
If used properly this app could make Twitter a top video sharing site.
At this point there are 700 videos shared on Twitter every minute. This number could explode if people start using this app.
I know people like to learn in short micro bursts but I’m not sure 6 seconds is really enough time to get your point across.
There is another app called Viddy. What I like about this app is that it allows you to upload a video that is 15 seconds or less. For me that makes more sense. You can express your self in that amount of time. The app also allows you to share you video on Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter. Another great feature is that you can also send them via email.
As of May 2012 the Viddy was valued at 200 million.
In December of 2012 the app also became available for Android users.
What’s the future for smart phone video apps? I can only imagine we will continue to see more and more available.
Do you have either of these apps? If so do you use them?
Either way I’d like you to share your thoughts and comments below.
