With all the marketing strategies available to you it’s no wonder you feel like your head is spinning.
All the “experts” tell you to be on every single social media site leaving you frustrated and overwhelmed.
In today’s world, marketing is all about sharing the things that are happening right now.
As an award-winning Photographer and Videographer, I love not only creating visual content for my own business but for my clients as well.
Once these visuals are created you need to share them in multiple ways.
I’ll be the first to admit that I hadn’t used Instagram as a marketing tool.
Then I started hearing more and more people on Shark Tank talking about how they used Instagram to grow their business.
Finally, after one of the shows, I knew I had to learn anything and everything I could about this platform.
Of course, I understand you might be skeptical as to whether you need to use Instagram to grow your brand so let’s talk about some of the basics.
What Is Instagram?
It’s an online mobile photo-sharing, video sharing and social networking site that enables you to take pictures and video and share them. You can also post these on a variety of social networking platforms such as Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook.
Instagram was launched in October 2010 and was later acquired in April 2012 by Facebook. Super smart move on their part!
Instagram is mainly a mobile platform and it is important for your business because more and more people are not only using the site but they are engaging on the site.
In the past month, I have received more likes and shares than on any other social media platform!
You can create an Instagram newsfeed with helpful information to boost your followers, engage them with your brand and generate new content that will drive more customers to you.
Easy to use: Instagram allows you to upload your image and then use filters to enhance your them. You can also post those images to other social networking sites.
Instagram is mobile: Instagram merges two great forces that are essential in social marketing strategies: mobile and photo sharing. This can give unique value to your brand.
Visual Storytelling: Instagram has more artistic value than other social media platforms. You can use a brand moment that will have more impact than text. It’s a great way to communicate visually with your audience, followers, and fans.
Visual Marketing: Instagram’s simple design enables you to share visuals that include images and videos. Be creative with your visuals so they stand out.
Free Exposure: Who doesn’t like “free” advertising. With other social media platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn you have to pay to advertise but when done correctly you can build your brand on Instagram for free!
Drive More Traffic
Of course, when you embark on any type of marketing strategy you want to know what your goals are. One of those should be to drive traffic to your site.
This is where I see a lot of people missing the mark be it on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites.
You see, when you post an image or video you must brand them with your website. You want people to know where it came from.
Use #hashtags, calls to action in your comments and then share this content on other social media platforms.
