Scenic Sunday Travels
As we travel around we find some interesting things to take photos of. One of those happens to be gates.
Here’s what wikipedia says about gates: “A gate or gateway is a point of entry to a space enclosed by walls, or a moderately sized opening in some sort of fence. Gates may prevent or control the entry or exit of individuals, or they may be merely decorative. Other terms for gate include yett and port. The word derives from the old Norse “gata”, meaning road or path, and originally referred to the gap in the wall or fence, rather than the barrier which closed it.”
I enjoy seeing the different ways people invite you into their home.
I think the gates say something about the home owners. They obviously love the island colors and I would think they’d be fun loving as well.
The next one just reminds me of someone who might be more formal.
What I like about this photo is the columns. They remind me of something you’d see in Italy. The way they have the gate it’s almost like it’s there but they are allowing you to peer into their garden.
We have so many photos of gates it was hard to decide what to share. I thought these three gates reflected three totally different personalities.
Which gate did you like best?

Have a great rest of the weekend!
