In another post, I talked about using video to create a buzz about your book.
There’s no doubt there are a variety of ways to market your book.
One way that seems to be underutilized is the video book trailer and I think I know why.
When I work with clients in creating a video marketing strategy for their business I tell them that it’s all about creating a long-term strategy.
Your goal should be to create a video empire. That means you can’t create one video and think you are done.
It’s the same principle when you are creating video book trailers. You create your first video and then continue the process.
I’ve started a video strategy for my soon to be released book.
You want to have people wondering what your book is about. How can it benefit them? By creating videos you are building anticipation. You are creating a buzz.
The more videos you have the more chances you have of people buying your book.
Here’s the second video I’ve produced.
So how do you direct people to your book if it’s not published? You create a call to action at the end of your video. This call to action could be to have them visit your site or go to a specific page on your site.
That seems to be a key mistake people make when they create their video book trailers. They talk about the book release date but where do you go for more information?
Let’s say you have a blog and you talk about your book. Make sure that you have an opt-in form for people to sign up for updates regarding your book.
You could even set up a specific page on your site that shows the cover image of your book with a sign up form below. When your book is published you can not only notify them of your published date but you will be able to continue reaching out to them. By having these individuals on this particular list you can ask them if they picked up a copy of your book. Then (and here’s the cool part) you can ask them for a review!
Here’s what my page looks like The Secret Equation To Attracting More Clients
It’s all about getting creative when you are marketing your book.
The more you are seen the more influence you have. Start creating your video empire today.
I’ll share some of my other videos as I produce them.
Have you used video to market your book?
