Do you ever want to say “Stop the World I Want To Get Off“?
You might tend to feel like that when it comes to your business. Why? On a daily basis you may be inundated with numerous emails. Emails where sometimes all they want to do is “sell” you the something!
These emails scream out buy me! Or they say this is the ONLY thing you will ever need. Which of course is not true!
Then there are times when you received invitations to attend a webinar. The topic really interests you so you register. Then another invitation for another webinar comes in and you register. You have entered the twilight zone. Well, not actually but it’s like you are in the zone of information overload.
The big questions is what do you do?
Here are just a few things I’ve started implementing this month. I started and am still yes, still in the process of weeding out my inbox. My time and yours is valuable. Spending time deleting or starting to read emails of little to no value wastes time. All of a sudden you have devoted too much time to this task.
Here are my 7 top tips for keeping focused and organized.
Tip number 1) clean out your inbox. This may take a day, two or more just commit to doing it.
What about all those products you purchased? How are you “filing” those digital products away?
Tip number 2) Create new folders when you purchase a down loadable file. Make sure you name it the product or name you will remember when looking for it in the future.
Tip number 3) Do the same when it comes to “free downloadable files” Again name it what the PDF is about and create a file folder.
Tip number 4) Write down everything you have a piece of paper. Here’s why. I have found out of sight out of mind. When I write down the products I’ve bought I can remind myself they exist. After I write them down I put them in a clear binder and keep it handy.
Now that you have you all this information filed, organized etc now what?
Tip number 5) Set up a calendar and make specific times to go through your products. You can do it any number of ways. You could take a week and schedule in a certain amount of time each day. You could also separate the information into weeks so you will know by the end of such and such a date you will have gone through all your files.
Tip number 6) Keep to this schedule! Let’s face it there are so many things that crop up that having a specific schedule not only ensures you get the materials covered but your investment will now be able to work for you!
Tip number 7) This has to do with attending webinars. There are sooo many webinars that I have had to really think long and hard about attending them. What I plan on doing is only attending those that are in line with where my business is going and if it might provide value for myself and my clients. I’ve come to know what webinars have real value and what webinars don’t. What I have learned from the many I attend is what to do and not to do when I host my own webinar on the Power Of Video. I plan on selling nothing just giving information and food for thought.
