How do you stay connected?
The other day my mother called and told me she wanted a cell phone. She felt left out by not texting and getting photos on a phone.
My mother has always been connected to everyone and at 80 she wants that to continue.
She is the perfect example of people realizing they need to stay connected in various ways.
I would venture to say the majority of us have smart phones. We stay connected with our family, friends and those we do business with.
Today more than ever people want to feel and stay connected. Did you know that 79% of smart phone users look at their phones within 15 minutes of waking up? I thought it would have been even less time!
By 2016 It’s predicted that 80% of the population will be smart phone users.
Smart phones are being used more and more to check emails. As a matter of fact from October 2010 to October 2012 the open rate for emails on smart phones was up 300%.
That was another reason my mother wanted a smart phone. She wanted to check her emails.
It made me think. If someone my mother’s age wants a phone just how many phones are being used? The answer is staggering. There are 5.2 billion mobile phone users!
When we talk about being connected 83% of those phones have cameras. What that means is you can be anywhere in the world, snap a photo and instantly upload it to Facebook, Twitter or even email it.
If you are on vacation and want to stay connected with friends and family they can be “enjoying” the view with you!
The growth of cell phone use is only going to increase.
That means not only staying connected with business, family, friends. It means a faster way of doing business.
With your smart phone you can take video and upload it immediately. People are taking video footage on their phones from fashion events and posting them immediately on to Twitter or sites like Viddy.
As business owners we need to make sure our sites are mobile ready. When someone visits via their cell phone or tablet what view do they get?
If you don’t know the answer to that now is the time to find out.
Remember 5.2 billion mobile phone users. That’s a number you can’t ignore.
What about my mother and a cell phone? We’ll be picking one out for her this weekend:)
Is your site mobile ready so you can stay connected with your clients?
