How accepting yourself helps you start or grow a business
Are you one of those people that doesn’t feel comfortable in their own skin? Maybe you are always trying to be some else.
Feeling comfortable and accepting yourself is part of leading a fulfilling life. When you accept yourself you are able to move forward with starting or growing a business.
Step one is to ask yourself a couple of questions:
1) Who is the person I want to be? Describe that person in detail. Do you want to be a successful business owner? Describe how you will feel. How will you dress?
2) What are the things you really care about?
3) Starting and growing a business requires passion. What are you passionate about?
Step two: Be as detailed as possible when you write your answers. This will act as a mirror into the person you want to become.
As you embark on this journey you need to realize that no one is perfect. We all have faults. When we recognize those faults, are they something we can work on to change?
I knew a man one time that said he always “barked” orders at people. According to him that was his personality and he couldn’t change. Couldn’t or wouldn’t? Those things can be changed. I’ve seen people like this turn around and be more understanding and compassionate. It takes work.
Are you ready to live the life you want and deserve?
Than I’m going to share with you a powerful 4 letter word. It’s LOVE! You need to love yourself. Sure there are parts of you that you are extremely happy with but then there are those, not so much. You have to stop beating yourself up over these and work on improving the way you view things. If you have habits that need to be changed then work on them one at a time.
You may find you have quirks. These make up your personality. They identify what is unique about you as a person.
In my book The Secret Equation To Attracting More Clients I talk about your P Factor. Your P Factor is your personality. It’s your personality that will draw people in and have them connect with you instead of your competition.
Every day focus on how you can do tings that showcase who you truly are. If you want to be more outspoken then choose your words wisely. Don’t allow yourself to be a wallflower. Your voice needs to be heard. Don’t sit in silence because your friends or family might not approve.
My mind often goes back to a young women I met who created beautiful jewelry. I met her when we both had booths at an art festival.
She had gotten up the courage to be there ignoring what her friends and family thought and you know what? Her both was buzzing with activity! Then her parents came. They weren’t happy with money she had brought in and told her it was time to pack up and go home. My heart broke as I saw the tears run down her face. This talented young woman was not going to go after her dreams.
The reason I’m telling you this is because I don’t want you to waste your talent because you are bowing to the wishes of everyone else but yourself.
Before you go to bed each night ask yourself if you were the best person you could be. Did the choices you made that day make your happy or did your fear keep you hiding in the shadows?
This is a journey you are taking. There are going to windy roads and detours you will need to navigate through. It won’t always be easy.
Following your dreams means following your values. You want to be the best person, mom, grandmother… that you can possibly be.
One of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself and your family is to be you.
