When you were a little girl were you inspired by a toy you played with?
A while ago I posted a video about GoldieBlox and CEO Debbie Sterling.
As an engineer Debbie wants to inpsire and encourage girls to spread their wings and fly to new heights.
At this time only 11% of the world’s engineers are female but hopefully with Debbie’s GoldieBlox that will change.
When my daughter was growing up she had dolls but she also had lincoln logs and Legos. She was encouraged to create and build things.
If GoldieBlox had been around I would have bought her that as well.
Girls are so much more than just pink and pretty frilly dresses. We grow up to be female entreprenuers.
Not only that but we make or influence over 85% of all purchases!
As mothers and grandmothers we can inspire our children to be anything they want to be by the way we raise them.
Molding and shaping our girls is one of the most important goals we could have.
In my last post about GoldieBlox I shared a video about Debbie and the product.
Today I wanted to share with you the newest ad for GoldieBlox. I love it!
Debbie has created toys for future inventors.
This made me think about the toys I had growing up. Yes I had my share of dolls but I had toys to help me build and create. My mother also instilled in us a love for reading.
There were plenty of books to help us go on “adventures” and learn about far off places.
Those books helped me to see the possibilities that were out there and although I didn’t know it then it would eventually lead me to write not only many newsletters, reports etc. but also my first book to inspire other women.
As a female entrepreneur how can we inspire our daughters by the toys they play with?
