Saturday morning as I was watching the news a segment came on about a woman who purchased a Chewhbacca mask (Star Wars)from Khols Dept. store. She took the mask out of the box, put it on and then live streamed it on Facebook and got over a million views. I have to admit it was pretty funny! Her laugh is contagious.
This brings up today’s topic which is live streaming on Facebook. Whether you love doing video or not it’s the way things are moving.
This past year live streaming, in general, has become more popular. It’s the reason I created my Periscope course.
Now we have access to Facebook Live.
Take a look at this infographic and you’ll see some interesting stats and tips.
Notice the reach you have with Facebook: 1.6 Billion! That’s huge compared to the other sites.
The infographic talks about stabilization and that’s a crucial element when we are talking about video whether it’s live or not.
One of the worst things you can do is shake the camera as you are filming. It can make the viewer really nauseous. It’s like being in a earthquake.
You also want to make sure you have great audio and that can be accomplished by purchasing an external microphone for your iPhone. I’m sure Android has one as well. You’d be amazed at the difference when using an external microphone.
To avoid any disruptions put your phone on airplane mode and make sure you are on wi-fi.
As an award winning videographer and photographer I’ve worked with many clients getting them comfortable in front of the camera and using the right equipment.
My question to you is: what’s holding you back from using any type of video in your business?
