Several years ago Google tried something called Google Help Outs. If you needed help and advice starting a business you could have a video chat with a professional like myself.
What made me sign up as an educator was the fact that you could hold video chats with people so you could make a better connection.
Fast forward to today and you have all kinds of options when it comes to communicating with your ideal clients/customers via video.
Rather than help one to one you can help hundreds if not more by using platforms like Facebook Live.
When I received an email in my inbox this morning about the 4-year-old start-up company Talkspace that offers not only text messaging but on-demand therapy via video I thought it was worth checking it out.
I thought it would be really helpful to listen in to the conversation that takes place between Anthony Noto who is a multimedia journalist and Talkspace co-founder Roni Frank.
Many people who come to me are looking for ways to grow their brand authority. They are looking for the next big idea that will propel them to higher levels.
Of course one of the best things you can do to grow your brand is to write a book on your business topic. Writing a book solidifies you as the expert.
Building your authority is also about looking for that big idea. The one that no one else is doing. Write a book on that topic, implement it and you are going to see real changes in your life.
Are you going to face obstacles in whatever business you choose? Absolutely but that should never stop you.
What I found interesting about Roni and her company is that she’s not in a field that people believe to be sexy. As a matter of fact she said: “We’re the only platform that provides mental health care and psychotherapy,” Frank said. “Many men [the majority of investors] interpret depression and anxiety as weakness and so they just don’t want to deal with this whole category. There’s so many platforms in the health care category, but so few in mental health care — it doesn’t make sense.”
Many times your big idea comes from your own life’s experience.
In 2012 when Roni Frank she had martial problems. She went through couples therapy which inspired her and her husband to use their tech skills and set up a platform so patients could have real time help using text messaging with licensed therapists.
Does this spur you on to think of what you can accomplish in the coming year?
Why not start with writing your first book?
