Today starts day 1 of Blogging For Brand Awareness
There’s no doubt about it I love blogging and I know it’s been one of the best ways I’ve used to create brand awareness.
Blogging is all about building relationships
Imagine my surprise as I walked into Costco last month and what was on the cover of their membership magazine? Several articles on “Building A Blogging Business”.
The article focused in on 4 different members who were making money blogging.
What I found interesting was the section they had on Dane Carlson. Why? Because it showed success doesn’t happen overnight.
For example Dane launched his blog Business Opportunities in 2001. It wasn’t until 2003 that he started earning money from his blog. In 2005 he was able to go part time with his day job. Then in 2008 he was able to quit that job.
The reason I wanted you to see the timeline is so that you can appreciate that it takes time. Many people hear the success others have blogging and jump right in only to find they aren’t making any money, their efforts aren’t being rewarded. Discouragement sets in and they give up.
Blogging is a way to create brand awareness and build relationships. That takes time and effort.
It was exciting to read in the Costco article about the moms who used their diaper money to pay for blog hosting in 2009. That blog grew into a 12 woman team with writers and contributors from the United States and Canada. That enabled them to grow it into a blog that now has 2.7 million unique visitors. Look at the year. That was 6 years ago and they had 12 women working on it.
So if you are a blogger just getting started or maybe you’ve been at it a year or so there are things you can do to grow your brand awareness.
That’s one of the reasons I started doing the quick video tips. They are designed to give you some inspiration when it comes to blogging for brand awareness.
