I’m not going to get into the technicalities of the Boca Grande bridge expansion but rather give you a photo view of the progress.
As we travel weekly back and forth to the village of Boca Grande we are not only delighted with the scenic beauty of the water and occasional Dolphin as we cross over several bridges, now we are seeing progress in action.
That progress has to do with the new bridges that they are building that go out to Boca Grande, FL.
It’s been very interesting to say the least to see just how quickly this is going. When I look at the the difference in height of the new bridge it makes me think of sailing above the water only you’ll be in your car not a boat.
Currently as you drive across the bridges you are just a little above the water. When the bridge is done the view will be quite different.
I couldn’t help but catch this picture of one of the boats being used to work on the bridges.
One of the reasons for the Boca Grande bridge expansion is because the original bridges are over 50 years old. One of the bridges currently opens up for these boats to get through but the that bridge needs work.
I had thought the traffic would be worse getting on to the island but it really hasn’t been that bad.
Now that we are coming to the summer months the island will be more quite.
When people come back for the vacation season they’ll be greeted with portions of the new bridge.
The following is a list of movies that have been filmed in part on Boca Grande, FL
2003 Out of Time
2011 Primo Despair
2010 The Story
If you are ever in the area it’s worth the bridge toll to visit this beautiful village.
Have you ever heard of Boca Grande? You have if you’ve seen some of my other posts:)
That’s scenic Sunday…..
