I recently read in a Hub Spot article that its not that we hate advertising its that we hate bad advertising. That’s the same thing when it comes to video.
We don’t hate watching videos we hate watching bad ones.
Its the bad videos that make businesses hesitant when it comes to incorporating videos into their marketing strategies.
As an award winning videographer I know there are key elements you need to have in order to get the maximum benefits from your video marketing strategy.
With over 100 hours of video uploaded every minute to YouTube your business video has to stand out from the competition.
How do you accomplish this?
I’ll start with 5 key tips.
First – start with content that is valuable. Make it worth the time to watch it. That means you have to know what your target audience is looking for and then create it.
Second – Decide how you will deliver your message. A face to face video? A tutorial video?
Third – script your video. For instance you don’t want to be saying umm, oops etc. Write down what you will say and then practice, practice, practice. Make it conversational.
Fourth – you need quality audio. People don’t want to strain to hear what you are saying or hear a loud humming noise. They also don’t want to hear loud popping noises as you are speaking.
Fifth if you are going to be doing a face to face video lighting is also crucial. No one wants to look at a dark or orange image.
I’ve had many people send me video emails wanting me to purchase their product and service with this type of video. My feeling is, if they can’t take the time to create a great looking presentation video why would I think they’d take care of me as a customer?
We could go further in depth with these points but for now consider the main points as you plan your videos.
Keep in mind your video may be the first impression of you or your company that a person has. First impressions matter. You can never make another FIRST impression so be very careful!
People will judge you or your business based on the quality of your video.
That’s how important it is.
As a video coach my goal is to make sure from what you are wearing , what you are saying to optimizing your videos that your business projects the right image and gets maximum exposure.
What trouble do you have when it comes to making videos?
