How important is Twitter to you and your business? I know I’ve made some worthwhile t connections there. I’ve found out about some opportunities that I wouldn’t have found otherwise.
Here are some interesting facts you might not know.
60% of Twitter users are female
340 million tweets are sent each and every day.
50% of Twitter users are using the social network via mobile
92% of re-tweets are based on interesting content
Infographics shared on Twitter get 832% more re-tweets than images and articles.
I’m all about learning in micro bursts. That’s probably one of the reasons Twitter appeals to me. You have 140 characters to say what you want to say.
Social media is critical to the success of our businesses. When you have a community, tribe or whatever you want to call your following you can gain momentum.
The other night I was watching America’s Got Talent while the show was live. As the live show was on they talked about Twitter and voting. The audience was given three choices on who they wanted to hear impersonated. Jay Leno was one of them.
The result of the Twitter vote was Jay Leno. The impersonator did a really good job if you didn’t see him.
I think of a photographer I met one time that would not change the way he advertised his business. He wasn’t interested in keeping up with the times. Unfortunately he wouldn’t get on social media of any kind. Even in this day and age people are reluctant to go with the changes in the business environment. Sad to say this photographer wound up closing shop.
I remember when I first started hearing about Twitter. Some people were early adapters. Others waited to see just what would happen.
The facts are clear. We need to be active on Twitter.
